Coeliac UK Awareness Week 9-15 May
Coeliac UK Awareness Week takes place from 9-15 May. Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disease, affecting one in a hundred people but as many as a third of people aren't diagnosed.
The disease is caused by eating gluten (a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye), which causes the body to attack its own tissues. It can cause gut damage and serious health complications, including osteoporosis, if left untreated.
It is however possible to treat this condition by following a strict gluten-free diet. However, you must eat gluten until you are officially diagnosed to get an accurate diagnosis. The good news is that symptoms usually improve rather quickly once diagnosed and the correct diet.
For awareness week let's ✨ shine a light ✨ on this disease - particularly as symptoms are so varied and easy to confuse with other things. For more information visit the Coeliac UK Website
Novo Farina products are all gluten free and can therefore be included in a coeliac diet. During awareness week we are offering 20% OFF our products.
